The THC/Marijuana drug testing is based on the very specific immunochemical reactions occurring between antigens and antibodies. The detection limit corresponds to the standards set by the SAMHSA (The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) – 50 ng/ml. The test is fast and easy to take; the results can be read already in 3-5 minutes after performing the test. Every strip comes in a separate sterile pouch bag.
INTERPRETATION OF THE TEST
1. Within few minutes after taking the test a COLOR BAND must appear on the left part of the result window to ensure the test is valid. However, because of the chemical characteristics of THC the color of the TEST BAND is much lighter than the TEST BAND of other drugs and metabolites, thus, it’s better to read the test with enough of lightning in the room.
2. On the right part of the result window the results are to appear. This will be the TEST BAND with the other color line.
POSITIVE: if you have only ONE color line – you’ve tested positive, the sample contains the concentration of toxins above the detection limit.
NEGATIVE: if you have TWO control lines – you’ve tested negative, with no THC above the detection limit. The color of the test line doesn’t carry any additional meaning.
INVALID: the test must be regarded invalid if you have NO LINE in the left part of the result window.
Note:
If you see a very slight band in the right part of the result window that disappears within 5 minutes, than the THC level in the sample is either close or below the detection limit. The sample is either to be retested once again or to be confirmed using another testing method (usually gas chromatography/mass spectrometry) before making a final determination.
